Summer Huddle: Recap

Summer Huddle: Elevated!

CAPS Network Family showed up and showed out at the 2023 Summer Huddle in Provo, UT. The Network created magic in the mountains complete with collaboration, networking, ChatGPT, best practices, line dancing and more! Yes, you read that right: line dancing.

Over 200 people gathered at Nu Skin Innovation Campus to share and learn. Alanna Muller, keynote speaker and MC kicked us off with a powerful networking session. Attendees learned how to make meaningful connections with peers from across the world and how to take that learning back to their home programs. Have you heard of Coffee, Lunch, Coffee? That is Alanna’s company name and suggestion for how to form lasting relationships and grow your network.

Workshops & Sessions

Huddle goers gathered for professional development sessions on topics ranging from the future of AI in education, how to use ChatGPT to augment your practice, creating meaningful Durable skills experiences, regional collaborations and more! These sessions were lead by CAPS Network affiliate instructors and directors as well as ecosystem partners from higher ed and beyond. Special thanks to those who presented. Your shared expertise moved the needle for so many.

Other sessions included collaboration time among strand-a-like instructors, brainstorming for the future of programs and hearing from CAPS alumni from across the state of Utah and the country.

All attendees had the opportunity to visit one of four (out of 8) of the regional CAPS programs in Utah: Davis Catalyst, Provo CAPS, Nebo CAPS and Wasatch CAPS. These visits featured student panels. Visitors toured the facilities and had time to collaborate.

Fun!

As always, CAPS Summer Huddle is a family reunion. Fun is a major component of our gathering. This year Charlie Jenkins and his band played live music at a private concert to welcome all Huddle attendees to Provo. We sang. We danced. We had a great time!
