A national organization is highlighting the impact of manufacturing careers across Kansas at the Topeka Center for Advanced Learning and Careers (TCALC) in Topeka, Kan.
The National Tooling and Machining Association (KC-NTMA) of Greater Kansas City visited TCALC to share its economic impact report.
The NTMA has nearly 80 companies in its Kansas City chapter.
This new report highlights how precision manufacturing supports jobs, wages, workforce development, supply chains and regional economic growth across the region.
They say the true impact of precision manufacturing is often hidden but it’s one of the fastest growing areas in our region and workers are needed to fill those jobs.
“We’re hoping to share the number of jobs that our manufacturing facilities support, what we are doing for our local economy our regional economy and those numbers are big, so while we may not be the biggest facilities, what we are doing has a big impact,” said Katherine O’Toole, Executive Director, KC-NTMA.
