CAPS Network Welcomes Inaugural Chief Strategy Officer

The CAPS Network team is pleased to announce the hire of Kate Parsons to the new role of Chief Strategy Officer.

Kate has spent nearly two decades in the K-12 education and non-profit spaces, where her career has centered on innovation, equity, human-centered design, and fostering a love of learning through authentic experiences and opportunities for young people.

Prior to this role at CAPS, Kate served as Co-founder and Executive Director of Portal Learning, where she led the design and launch of an innovative micro-high school, and then, a career learning program model focused on personal development and experiential career learning.

At Portal, Kate successfully spearheaded strategy and model design, built strong partnerships with corporations and post-secondary institutions, advanced fundraising efforts, and led the organization through a successful transition from a school operator to a non-profit service provider.

Kate brings a wealth of experience in education, having previously served as Principal of Da Vinci Design, a leading project-based learning charter school network in Los Angeles. She is a proven leader with a strong track record of success in strategic planning, program development, and operational management within the education sector.

Kate holds a B.S. in Education and Chemistry from Manhattan College and an M.Ed. in Educational Administration and Leadership from Arizona State University.
